All Fun and Games (2023)★★★☆☆

Yeah, this movie was also fine. It’s hard(er) to complain about a movie that’s less than an hour and twenty minutes long.

But it could have been so much better! It started out interesting enough, and scary enough. There’s not much character development, which makes sense given how short this movie is, so it’s hard to care about anyone in particular.

Also, like, clearly it’s always a STELLAR idea to read some old written words OUT LOUD. Ancient diary? Centuries-old knife covered in dirt? Clean ’em off and read ’em out!

And then the ending felt somehow anticlimactic? I mean, this movie does the thing where it opens with a scene from the end, so you already knew some of the stakes going in, which probably didn’t help.

Otherwise, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a Salem-set witchcraft movie? So it was fine.
