Atlantics (2019)★★★☆☆

This movie is is a bit heavy, and slow (and English-subtitled, as it’s primarily in Wolof). It’s beautifully acted and the story is an interesting one.

It was a little slow for my personal enjoyment, but I was really impressed by Mame Bineta Sane’s portrayal of Ada.

(Spoilers ahead) Ultimately this is a slow, sad story about love, money, loss, ghosts, and revenge. It’s not a “horror” movie per se, but there are definitely horrors and terrors in the themes.
