Friend Request (2016)★★★☆☆

I’ve had this movie on my watch list for a long time and am only just getting around to it. It was okay, but nothing special. It’s one of those films where there’s an interesting story but sometimes the special effects are too laughable to be scary.

I did like the story here, as unoriginal as it was. I thought the acting was pretty good, even. And the special effects I DID like were the animations that Marina posted on her Facebook.

But otherwise this has a lot of silly technology hand-waving, a lot of silly special effects, and it could’ve been much scarier. It’s not terrible, but it could have been so much better.
