House of Spoils (2024)★★★★★

Okay, I…have no explanation for this five-star rating. Genuinely I don’t, because when I think about it, there’s…not much of a real story to this film. It’s not truly scary. It doesn’t have a whole lot of familiar faces.

And yet…I was SO entertained by it? Maybe I was just really hungry when I started this movie? I do love a good restaurant and a good restaurant story, I guess? I thought Ariana DeBose was SO GOOD as Chef.

If you can’t deal with seeing decaying things or bugs, you should probably stay away from this movie. But if you like stories about restaurants and sexism and witches, maybe don’t sleep on this movie? I loved it.
