In a Violent Nature (2024)★★☆☆☆

So, as you’ll learn later this week, I’m going to be watching a LOT of Friday the 13th movies. A LOT. And this movie really feels like it’s trying to be an entry into that franchise, only with Johnny instead of Jason.

…and to be honest, it feels just like one of the worst entries in the Friday the 13th franchise. On the one hand, I can sort of see what it’s trying to do? Like it feels as if the whole movie is just one “bit”? But it’s such a slog to get through.

There are some fun death scenes, but there’s SO MUCH filler in between. For such a short film, I found myself checking how much time was remaining way too often. I’m disappointed, because I read a lot of rave reviews about this. Maybe they’re from people who’ve never seen a bunch of Jason Voorhees movies?
