Mandy (2018)★★★☆☆

So…I’ve seen this movie now. It seems like a lot of people really like it. I…well, I watched the shit out of it.

It’s weird, on purpose. It’s very red (and the main character’s name is Red), on purpose. It’s VERY trippy, even when there’s no actual tripping going on, on purpose.

But damn if Nicolas Cage didn’t act the HELL out of it. And I like Linus Roache! And Andrea Riseborough!

So I’ll just say…if you want to see something violent and weird and trippy, maybe watch this. But if you want something genuinely scary and with really great storytelling and pacing…I dunno, probably watch something else?
