Monolith (2023)★★★☆☆
There was some really interesting potential here, and I think Lily Sullivan did an excellent job, but I wasn’t really feeling this one for most of the film.
I think it might just be one of those weeks for me, though? On the other hand, this is a bit of a slow burn of a film, and you all know how I feel about those.
This is also one of those movies that brings up way more questions than it answers, which isn’t always entertaining.
I’m not even sure if I do or don’t recommend this movie. It’s the type of film that feels like a product of pandemic lockdowns (only one person on screen for the full length feature), so I think it has some historical value in that sense? And there’s definitely some interesting stuff here, but I wasn’t super impressed by it.
