Night of the Hunted (2023)★★☆☆☆
Okay, I was on board with this movie for the first half or so. And then it turned into…something else. Something I couldn’t really get behind.
(Spoiler alert) Look, I didn’t want to spoil this, but I think it’s important to spoil it. It turns from a scary enough unseen shooter movie into an extended conversation about right-wing conspiracies and pharmaceutical companies and whether or not women should be allowed to not have children? I guess that’s scary in a different way?
I watched this because Camille Rowe is in it, and I liked her in The Deep House and wanted to see what else she could do. And to be fair, she’s pretty good in this!
But this got old and boring pretty quickly, and I think it’s important to know what you’re getting yourself into if you decide to watch this. I feel like it wanted to say some things, but it didn’t really deliver a clear message, and ultimately didn’t deliver a really scary film, either.
