Polaroid (2019)★★★☆☆
This was a silly horror movie that suffered from campy special effects and odd pacing choices. It could have been a lot better than it was!
I thought the acting was fine. I’ve liked Kathryn Prescott since her turn in Skins, and I genuinely like most things I’ve seen of Mitch Pileggi. The rest of the cast was mostly unfamiliar but good enough.
The story was okay, not wholly original but I like the idea of using Polaroids so you can see the image developed almost right away.
But the primary reveal was over the top, and while the funniest death scene happens near the end, it definitely didn’t draw me in to the story any more. You don’t have to skip this one but you probably don’t have to pay close attention to it either.
