The Black Phone (2022)★★★★☆

I guess my streak of liking movies more the second time around has ended? I still liked this one, but I think I found it scarier and more impressive the first time I watched it.

Anyway, it’s hard to go wrong with Ethan Hawke in a scary movie. Especially a scary movie by the same team as Sinister. I also just learned this movie was based off of a short story by Joe Hill, whose work I find…really hit or miss. Given that this movie’s a hit, maybe I’ll read the story?

Anyway, I like the 1970’s aesthetic, I thought everyone put in a stellar performance, and the Grabber is pretty creepy. This one is worth a watch! And I think there’s supposed to be a sequel next year or so, too.
