The Children (2008)★★★★☆

Wow, it’s been almost another full year. Just this movie and tomorrow’s, and then it’s 2025! I’m glad I mostly liked this movie, and we’ll see how tomorrow’s goes…

Anyway, this movie has a lot going for it. Lots of blood and gore, creepy children, lots of tension, and lots of jump cuts.

Only…the jump cuts are disorienting in a way that didn’t work for me. A few of them pointing to what was actually going on were more useful, but mostly they were distracting. I think this could have been a five-star movie without the funny camerawork.

But it’s still pretty good, and festive, and British, and I can recommend it pretty broadly.
