The Invitation (2022)★★★★☆

I have some mixed feelings on this one. My biggest question, I guess, is why some of the cover art is a bit of a spoiler on its own? I guess not terribly so, but somewhat.

It’s suprisingly difficult to talk about this movie without spoiling it, actually. I think I liked it? I definitely appreciated everyone’s performance in it. I love Sean Pertwee and I thought Nathalie Emmanuel was wonderful.

And I also love giant creepy mansions! And British accents! And while this movie wasn’t quite what I was expecting, it was still mostly interesting and engaging.

Anyway, the ending was a little silly (okay, kind of a LOT silly), especially for a movie that seemed to take itself pretty seriously throughout the rest of it. But I do think, overall, I liked this movie.
