The Stuff (1985)★★★★★
Well, HERE is a silly B Movie I can get behind. Seriously, I knew I was going to like this from minute one.
It’s so clear this movie knows what it is from the start, and what it is is ridiculous and silly and just epically entertaining. From the brightly colored 80’s synth commercials, to the sharp and hilarious dialogue, this movie is FUN.
(Almost certainly spoilers ahead) I love the silly love story, the poor kid who lost his whole family, and Ben, the bestest boy in the whole film.
I love Michael Moriarty as Mo, so called because “whenever you give me money, I always want mo’”.
I even love Paul Sorvino and his ridiculously over the top Colonel Spears.
Plus the movie is under an hour and a half long, and feels that way. I’d recommend this pretty broadly for fans of commercialism satire who can deal with a bit of guts and gore.
