Having seen all of Degrassi: The Next Generation, I had a pretty good idea of what Kevin Smith thinks about Canada going into this. And yep, that’s essentially what this movie is about: what Kevin Smith thinks about Canada.

Which isn’t to say that it’s not horrifying or entertaining, because it’s both. Sure, much of the horror is from rather graphic disturbing scenes but that doesn’t make it any less horrifying. I was definitely left horrified. And squeamish. Horrified and squeamish.

The entertainment value here is pure Kevin Smith, of course. Amidst the gory terror are a few good one-liners and several scenes straight out of…well, out of a Kevin Smith movie.

I’d stay away from this if you consider yourself faint of heart, and probably even if you don’t…unless you’re already a fan of Kevin Smith.

Have I said Kevin Smith enough yet? Let me also add that this movie stars Justin Long and Haley Joel Osment. So there might be a reason to watch this even if you aren’t the biggest Kevin Smith fan.
