We Summon the Darkness (2020)★★★☆☆

This movie has been on my watch list for so long and now I’m almost wishing it had just stayed there. I was so disappointed by it and I don’t even really have the words to explain why.

I mean, really, it’s got cute girls and Satanic panic and pretty decent acting. It’s got some humor and a relatively interesting story.

But it just doesn’t work overall. Maybe it’s the pacing? It’s a shorter movie, but there were too many parts that dragged on and left me bored. I can’t even pinpoint the specific parts because logically I know they spent about the right amount of time on everything, yet…

I don’t know. Maybe I’m not feeling too generous this week. Maybe I just watched this at exactly the wrong time. But I thought this movie would be way better and I was way too disappointed instead.
