Child's Play (2019)★★★☆☆

Since I watched all the Friday the 13th movies a few months back, I decided to watch this remake (reimagining?) instead. I really like Aubrey Plaza, but this movie was kind of a disappointment.

First off, Chucky is way more creepy looking than in the original. You might think that’s a good thing, but…he’s so creepy looking that it’s hard to believe anyone would buy a Buddi doll. Ever.

This film tries to bring Chucky into the modern era by focusing more on “smart” technology than the story from the original, which loses some of the impact of the story.

And it’s a relatively short movie that drags on too long. You know how I feel about those. You can probably skip this one. But have a great Friday the 13th anyway!
