Grave Encounters 2 (2012)★★★☆☆
I liked this one about as much as I liked the first one. The camerawork and lighting was a bit better. The characters were almost as unlikable as the first group, but I’m a little more forgiving because they’re a bunch of college kids.
I thought the opening sequence was kind of neat but the premise of the sequel a bit weak. This is never more apparent than the end, which feels forced and too surreal (not that you can call much of this realistic).
Some of the scares are just as cheap here. In fact, some of the cheap scares in this one are just replays of the cheap scares from the original. The post-credits scene is cute though, and this film is better paced than the original, so it’s worth watching if you liked that one.
