Late Night with the Devil (2024)★★★★☆

I’m honestly not too sure how to write about this movie. Not because I didn’t like it, but because I did, and I don’t really have a clear explanation for why.

I don’t want to spoil this, because I think it’s worth a watch, so I’ll try to be brief and maybe a little cagey.

This movie isn’t really scary throughout, though there are a few creepy moments. The 1970s setup and visual style works pretty well, along with the choice to use primarily less familiar (particularly outside of Australia) faces.

Except for David Dastmalchian, who honestly was the perfect choice for Jack Delroy. I think he’s the main draw of this film, at least for me. I just genuinely wanted to understand more about him?

Anyway, this story is not super original, but I found this really riveting and entertaining, and I guess I’d recommend it pretty broadly.
