The Conjuring 2 (2016)★★★★☆
I liked this one. Fans of the first one in general should like this one. The truth is, this basically is the first one – but set in London with a different family and a different demonic presence.
So I don’t have much to say about this one that I didn’t already say yesterday. The acting is great (even the kids, again), the movie is scary, and the direction is, well, James Wan. And I like James Wan.
This one moves a little slower than the first. There were definitely a few times I felt like the movie was dragging on a bit, but that could be because I haven’t slept well the past couple of weeks so I’m more irritable than usual.
Overall, though, like I said before – if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are so convincing and compelling and awesome as the Warrens that it’s hard not to like anything they’re in.
Anyway, I’ll watch Annabelle tomorrow – which I don’t think they’re in, and which hopefully isn’t as bad as many reviews have said.
